Niner Report reached out to Phenom Hoops about the latest commitment for Charlotte in 6-foot-2 Cooper Robb from the Tennessee Bobcats.
Phenom Hoops Analyst Jeff Bendel and Jamie Shaw had this to say about Robb, after he recently participated in the Southern Jam Live in Greensboro this past weekend.
Phenom Hoops Jeff Bendel:
6’2 Cooper Robb (2018)
Tennessee Bobcats
Phenom Hoops takes pride in finding guys that are “unknown”, putting them on a platform, and doing anything possible to get them discovered. Tennessee native, Cooper Robb, joined that list today after receiving—and accepting—an offer from Mark Price and the University of Charlotte. The scholarship was nearly inevitable, given Robb’s incredibly poised play throughout Southern Jam. Robb is a lead guard with great size and natural instincts; he plays with terrific pace but is always looking to attack. Opposing guards struggle to contain Robb, as he is fully capable of scoring efficiently from all three levels with a variety of next-level moves. However, his ability to score so well is simply a bonus; Robb’s innate feel for the game oozes out when he’s setting the floor for teammates. He possesses a tight handle, which pairs nicely with his truly phenomenal vision and IQ. Robb is a solid defender that knows how to properly utilize positioning and angles to deceive opponents. Few guards have been more poised this July than Robb, who clearly made every single one of his teammates better when on the floor. His skill set will translate from day one and he should have no problem getting quality minutes in due time. It’s surreal that his recruitment didn’t break out until now, but sometimes it’s just about playing in front of the right people.
Phenom Hoops Jamie Shaw:
Tough kid, great court vision...had 1 game of 15 assists to 0 turnovers in Phenom's Southern Jam. A 3 sport athlete, also carried an Air Force offer in football. Good off the bounce, scored at all 3 levels. Game rises with level of opponent.
