Charlotte Picked Up A Huge Commitment Wednesday in RB Robert Washington

On Wednesday afternoon, Charlotte received big news on the latest commitment for their 2016 recruiting class, as running back Robert Washington announced he will be playing for Charlotte.

Washington is a 5'10, 215 pound running back from East Gaston High School in North Carolina.

Washington recently took a visit to Charlotte a few weeks ago and had schedule official visits to schools such as Alabama, Pittsburgh, and TCU as well.

Washington rushed for 1,017 yards and 11 touchdowns on just 89 carries as a freshman and put up more than 4,700 yards and 55 touchdowns in his sophomore and junior seasons. He only played six games this past fall but still ran for 900 yards and 12 scores.

This powerful running back is one of two running backs Charlotte could be signing in the next couple of days, as they have Butler's Benjamin Lemay, who also signed to the 49ers.

Adam Friedman, Rivals Analyst, had this to say about Washington:

He's a strong inside runner that could bring some consistency to Charlotte's running game. Washington could have a successful career as long as he keeps his personal life from knocking him off track.

Washington was once committed to Syracuse before decommitting.

Make Sure to sign up for Niner Report Premium, as we hope to go one-on-one with Washington.
