It’s fitting that a senior would lead the team on senior night. Anthony Vanhook had a solid performance on Saturday evening. The 6’4 forward played with relentlessness in his last game in front of the home fans. In his 30 minutes of play, Vanhook would score 21 points while grabbing seven rebound. His inside game was his biggest asset as he cashed in quite a few shots when driving the lane. It was an exciting and emotional day for the senior and he played one of his best games of the season. Vanhook and the Niners have two more games and a likely Conference USA Tournament trip. Let’s hope to see more of this good play moving forward.

Marshall: Stevie Browning

Stevie Browning knows how to score and that’s what he did with ease on Saturday evening. The senior guard scored 27 points on an efficient nine of 13 shooting while grabbing five rebounds. Browning scored from all over the court, knocking down five threes and driving the lane. He also had what was probably the highlight of the game, putting down a long alley-oop pass with authority early in the first half. Browning was essential to his team’s success against the Niners and easily had the best performance on the squad.
