Nickerson picks Niners

The Charlotte 49ers added their third commitment of the 2011 class on Saturday afternoon. E. Victor Nickerson of Norcross High School chose Charlotte over DePaul, Colorado, Wichita State, Georgia Southern and Colorado. Nickersson is ranked 133rd in the Rivals 150 for 2011.
"E.Victor Nickerson is a young man of very high character," said Norcross head basketball coach Jesse McMillan in a statement. "He has goals that he has worked hard to achieve. He was easily one of the most important reasons for our success last season and looks to have a strong senior campaign. He worked diligently in the recruiting process to find the coaching staff and program that would put him in the best position for success, and I know he will have a great career at UNC-Charlotte."

The 6-foot-6-inch 175 pound guard/forward joins Mike Thorne and Terrence Williams for the Niners 2011 class.
Nickerson took his first official visit to Charlotte toward the end of August and most recently visited the Charlotte campus for Major Madness last week.
"Charlotte runs a NBA-style pick and roll offense that appeals to me," said Nickerson in a statement. "Coach Major has a good history of working with wings, and I know he will help me develop on and off the court. I enjoyed my visits and really liked the diversity on the campus. I look forward to a great career at UNCC."
Charlotte has two remaining scholarships to give for 2011.
