Last week Mark Price and the rest of the Charlotte basketball staff received great news from incoming prospect Najee Garvin. On Tuesday Garvin accepted the scholarship offer from Charlotte, the same day he received it. He had received other offers from Appalachian State, USC-Upstate, and Maryland-Eastern Shore.

Garvin is a 6'7 small forward out of South Carolina, playing his senior year out of Moravian Prep . He says Price told him his role is “to rebound, play hard, and compete.”

Garvin is an athletic player with a high motor who excels at rebounding for his prep school team. Price is hoping that translates well to his improved Niner squad since he took over. Garvin says he needs to work on his shot from beyond the arch to improve his game for the college level.

Garvin is planning on studying Public Investigation and Law at Charlotte.
