June 12, 2006 Ask Kenyan Harmon if his last name is spelled with an "O" or an "A," and he'll reply matter-of-factly, "It's definitely with an "O."Ask him if he knows where he wants to spend his collegiate career, and, the confident tone? Not so much there anymore. "Man I don't know," Harmon said with a sigh. What he does know is that Charlotte remains the team to beat in the recruiting race for the 6-7 forward. "They're still on top," Harmon, with an "O" said. "I just called coach (Bobby) Lutz the other day, and he asked me if I was still thinking Charlotte, and I told him yes." Back in April Harmon announced to NinerReport that he was reopening his recruitment, after giving the Niners a verbal commitment last August, because he thought that he could possibly go to a "bigger school." Now Harmon revealed the main reason that he decommitted from Charlotte wasn't because of the interest he was receiving from "bigger schools." "It was mainly because coach (Benny) Moss left," Harmon said. "I was close with him, and when he left I wanted to open up my options. I said that I felt like I could go to a bigger school, but at the same time if you're good enough they're going to find you, so it doesn't really matter. But the main reason was because of coach Moss. "Now I'm talking to coach (Rob) Moxley, and he seems cool." When asked if the bond between Harmon and Moss was strong enough to have him riding waves in between classes at UNC Wilmington, Harmon laughed and said: "Nah, I don't think so. I mean coach Moss is my man, and if I didn't have bigger offers I definitely wouldn't mind going there." Since reopening his recruitment Oklahoma and Kansas State have jumped on the Harmon bandwagon, but Harmon contends that the Niners sit atop his list. "I might just go to Charlotte, but right now there's a lot going on so I don't know," he said. "I've got to think about a lot. I don't know if I'm going to Nike, Reebok or Adidas this year or NBA Camp next week. I've got to decide on that too. But Charlotte is on top for me, and I'll probably get down there when school starts up again." Click on video clip link to view prospect videos:
