1. Job Title: Men's soccer beat writer

Job Description: The staff writer will cover the nationally recognized Charlotte 49ers men's soccer beat for NinerReport.com. Duties will include the following:

• Cover every home men's soccer (10-12 games total) game and provide a written game story before the Publisher deadline.
• Conduct interviews with the men's soccer team and write stories as assigned by the Editor.
• Cover occasional practices depending on team schedule to satisfy required credit hours.
• Report and break news on the beat.
• Use social media to discuss the beat and interact with 49er fans.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate/undergraduate student at UNC Charlotte. Internship credit could be earned, please check your major guidelines.
• Should have a solid understanding of soccer concepts
• Should have completed Intro To Journalism (JOUR 2160)

• Cover each practice, providing written reports on the practice.
• Write features, Q&A's and other articles pertaining to the football team.
• Cover each home game and provide written game reports by deadline.
• Use social media to discuss the beat

Requirements

• Candidate should have completed most of the journalism minor requirements.
• Candidate must be able to cover 50 percent of practices. Schedule will be determined by the Editor.
